The automatic star-delta switch - star-delta time relay is designed for the initial start-up of three-phase motors. When the coil is energized, it switches to star wiring to allow the motor to start. The star remains connected for a specified period and then goes into standby mode. After the waiting period, it allows switching to delta connection. It therefore improves efficiency by reducing the current drawn by high-power motors during start-up.

The time delay relay mounts on a standard 35mm DIN rail.
